I've been thinking a lot about seasons of life lately. Prayer over the season we are in as a couple; about the season we are in as parents/grandparents; about the season I am now in leading women's ministry. I think that each year as we approach the month of May, which is Birthday Season in our family, I start to ponder these things.
I long to know God more. I want to understand better the gifts that He has blessed me with. I want to learn to embrace my imperfect abilities, and fully comprehend that, in due time, He will grow my creative side, but also that He expects me to put in the practice as well.
Right now I see this as a season of much learning and great growth. The knowledge of that scares me some, as growth is not usually easy. My biggest prayer as I walk into this season is that God will place a "guard over my lips" and will teach me, gently, to stop and ponder before moving and speaking.
