Hi There.

Welcome to The Creative Table - where everyone has a seat at the table because we are all creatively made!

The Speed of Light...(it's all relative)

OK, here we go with post #2.

I’m still in a bit of a ‘twirl’ at the speed in which this process is moving. Now, let me clarify that statement: Speed is relative! I have been talking about doing this for more than a year: Talking, dreaming, brainstorming, searching for the perfect web platform, yada yada yada. Funny thing is; you can talk, dream, brainstorm and whatever until the cows come home – until you actually make I happen it’s all just theory! So…now this is the reality. My dreaming is actually ‘walking’.

That being said, I wouldn’t’ even be this far along if I didn’t have an amazing support system. Of course that includes my family, but more than that, it’s my best friend. Today I thanked her for “pushing my gas pedal” (as in car moving forward, not a rough lunch at the Mexican food place down the road!). She is amazingly encouraging, creative down to her pinkie toes and most of all – she has faith in me and makes me want to be a better person. I think it’s rare indeed, in this day and age, to find someone outside of your own family who makes you want to be a better you. You will certainly see more about her in the coming days, weeks, months and years. She will be one of my guest contributors on this site, and you will see lots of links to her site as well.

To understand what a big deal this is (at least in my world) you have to know that I work a job that has me spending well over 60 hours a week in an office away from my home. If you know me, you know this kills me a little each day…mostly because by the time I get home, I’m utterly exhausted. Additionally, you know how ‘they’ say (whoever ‘they’ are) that women have a certain number of words to speak each day (that number is around 20,000…some 13,000 more than men use each day)? Well, my job, and the hours therein, causes me to actually use all of those words before I ever walk back into the house at the end of the day. Now, if you ask The Rocket Scientist he would say this doesn’t bother him at all (he would say it lovingly, but with a grin from ear to ear!)! It bothers me. After all, when you have the gift of gab and you can’t use it…well, frustration ensues and it’s just not pretty. Add to that the fact that sewing while one’s eyes are drooping is a very dangerous endeavor…I mean, I really don’t want to pierce my fingers, it’s just not my thing (body piercing and all – it’s for some, but I just can’t pull it off in a sophisticated manner!). So, I guess you can say that this little spot on the ‘interwebs’ is my way to use more than 20,000 a day, as well as hopefully get me to a place where I can get all of my creative mojo out there to share!

Alright, enough blah…blah…blah-di-blah.

My first post with a photo I wanted to show you a little peek of how I hope to keep this ball rolling with a little peek behind the scenes as the creation of my blog planner begins. I will be finishing this project this weekend (I needed a little more time than 1 day to complete due to the fact that the monsoon storms here in the desert have the humidity level so high the Mod Podge was making life with paper quite difficult). This is truly just a peek and can’t wait to show more…especially the awesome planner pages created by my BFF and soon to be offered on her Etsy page (if you are a photographer, mom-tographer, person who like cool printables and photo templates, please visit her store at Sweetheart Creative).

To cover the front and the back of the planner I used the Everyday Memories paper pad from Recollections (purchased at Michaels and I adore it…lots of pretty glittered pages and inspiring quotes.). I will be binding it with my Cinch and again will post the full process this weekend.

I hope you enjoy a little peek of what’s to come, and maybe you got a little spark to go sit with a friend and brainstorm what you want your future to look like. Write it out, talk it out, draw it out. Whatever you do, however you do it…just start: create your happy.

Blessings…
