Lately, in the midst of pondering and mulling over how women best encourage each other, I have been thinking about mission statements. More importantly, creating a personal mission statement that would also translate to my business’s mission statement. Because, in actuality, my personal statement and my business statement would run almost parallel.
So…you know, I really should be able to figure one out for myself…but there is a lot of stuff to encapsulate into a few short sentences for a mission statement. Now, since we live in the modern age, what do you think I did? Yep…GOGGLE!
Google landed HERE on Franklin Covey’s page to build and mission statement. Below is what the statement generator spit out after I filled in answers to some generic questions:
You now have the beginning of a mission statement built on a foundation of your values. You have more clarity into you want to be and to do in your life. You can also start to detect the values and principles upon which your life is based.

I will constantly renew myself by focusing on the four dimensions of my life:
- exercise more and eat better
- spend more time in prayer and in god's word.
- get more education in the fields of my passion
- grow and pour into my marriage, my family and my friends.
Meh….doesn’t really float my boat, but at least there is stuff in front of my eyeballs now to put into an order that better suits and fits me. After all…my spiritual life is much more of a priority than this seems to make it. Given that I am a spiritual person that aspect will obviously have an important role in my business as well. I guess that leaves me with much more thinking and work to do before I have a final mission statement of 3 to 5 sentences!
